Day 1- Nonsurgical modalities for hair restoration

Day 2 – Surgical modality for hair restoration- Hair Transplant

Topics covered for discussions include-

• Anatomy of scalp and hair
• Different techniques for hair transplant
• Difference between FUE and FUT
• Usage of proper punches and forceps
• Hairline designing –free hand and laser markings
• How to plan and execute a good hair transplant, as not all patients are candidates for hair transplants
• Different types of anesthesia
• Preparation of OT with emergency medications
• Preparing the OT trolley

Patients are hands-on for the following –

• FUE technique hair transplant-

All participants work along with Dr. Arun Panda and his time for the whole day. During the whole day in OT, participants perform hairline marking, perform block and tumescent anesthesia, prepare slits, perform extraction of follicles with punches, performing the implantation. The participating doctors are given free hand to perform the procedures under Dr. Arun’s guidance.

Day 3 – Surgical modality for hair restoration- Hair Transplant, body hair harvesting

Patients are hands-on for the following –

• FUE technique hair transplant-

All participants work along with Dr. Arun Panda and his time for the whole day. This day is dedicated to harvesting hair from other parts of the body. The participant would be performing anesthesia for beard harvesting and also harvesting hair from beard. Followed by implantation into the recipient area. The participating doctors are given free hand to perform the procedures under Dr. Arun’s guidance.
