Arm Life and Arm Fat Reduction Treatment in Navi Mumbai

Arm Reduction/ Arm Lift

A Brachioplasty, also referred to as an arm lift, is a surgical operation to reshape and strengthen the upper arms and the connecting area of the chest wall. Arm reduction also referred to as ‘bingo wings’ or ‘bat wings’, is a procedure to minimize the amount of loose skin on the upper arm.

How is Arm reduction or Arm lift is performed?

Our plastic surgeon at our Navi Mumbai Clinic can make cuts on the inside and under the surface of your arm during the operation, often from the armpit to as deep as the elbow. It removes excess skin and fat and stretches and stitches the remaining skin back together. Slimmer, smoother upper arms normally result from the process.

There may however be noticeable scarring that can spread to the elbow from the armpit. Before your operation, our Plastic Surgeon in Navi Mumbai will discuss this with you.

Arm lift surgery procedure in Navi Mumbai India

Brachioplasty is a quick procedure and starts with anesthesia administration. Most anesthesia is provided for convenience, and you can opt for either intravenous or general anesthesia. You will explore what is going to be best for you with the surgeon.

Our Plastic surgeon in Navi Mumbai will make an incision on the previously marked signs on the arm after the anesthesia has taken effect. Depending on the amount of excess skin, the length of an incision is made. It will also differ with the same incision pattern. Inside the arm and at the back of the arm, incisions are made and can stretch up to the elbow. Then using direct process or liposuction, the fat is extracted.

The form of incision is very significant and depends on the individual situation. Often under the underarm region, only minimal incisions are needed when only little shaping is necessary. Using sutures, the underlying tissue is tightened and reshaped after the incisions are made. Once the surgeon is pleased, the new contour is smoothed over the skin.

Using absorbable sutures, the incisions are closed and the stitches are removed after two to three weeks until they are fully healed. Almost instantly, you can see the changes in the structure and appearance of your arms. It is normal to have a small amount of swelling and bruising, but it will go away in a few days.

You will have dressings and bandages on the incisions during the healing time and in some cases, the arm will be wrapped in an elastic bandage to keep the swelling under control. To drain the excess fluid and blood, a tiny thin tube is used. Make sure you follow the recovery directions from your doctor to the letter to aid healing.

Recovery after arm lift surgery is reasonably fast and within one or two weeks you can return to normal activity and even lift heavyweight in six weeks. Scarring will be present, but it will be handled very carefully in the hands of an expert surgeon, so that much is not visible.
